East Coast Back Country

2.11.08

When most people think of back country riding they think about huge, empty, treeless snow fields. Those are few and far between in the East. Thankfully, we have some pretty sick wooded mountains to make up for the lack of above treeline riding.

To avoid the weekend crowds at the resorts (yes, we are spoiled with liftline-less mid-week riding) Nick and I took a journey via snowshoe deep into the Green Mountains. After a 2 hour leg burning hike we finally reached the summit of our gladed candyland. After a well deserved mid-morning lunch we took several laps through the powder filled zone. We found some wicked fun features and pretty much demolished every inch of the untouched powder.

This is what East Coast back country is all about, and don't even think about asking us where this place is because we have no idea.
