Shred The Bush

Today marked the first day of on hill shredding in the 2007 - 2008 season! Yes, Sunday River became the first East coast resort to open for the season. Unfortunately, we were not able to make it all the way out there today. However, the deafening ring of Sugarbush's snow making system was calling our names.

We began our 2 hour trek up Lincoln Peak mid morning under clearning skies and brisk temperatures. Natural snowfall greeted up about 1/4 way up the mountain and increased in depth with altitude. We heard that there was a "lot" of snow up top but given pre-season exagerations, we were not expecting much. Thankfully my source was reliable! Sugarbush definitely has more than enough snow to be open. The slashing was plentyful and fun with tons of little rollers, waterbars and snowmaking mounds to launch from. If you have some free time, I would highly recomed getting up on the hill.
