Noel

11.1.07

Today, November 1st, is the beginning of the last month of the Atlantic hurricane season. Most of New England managed to go the first 4 months of the season without seeing a substantial hurricane swell. However, it is still hurricane season and all of New England should be getting lit up with a solid overhead swell curtosey of Tropical / Sub-Tropical Storm Noel.

Noel has spent her last few days pummeling Hispaniola and the Bahamas. She has claimed the lives of at least 101 people and has been the driving force behind days of coastal errosion. Once she passes through the Bahamas this afternoon, Noel will increase her speed, most likely become a Sub-Tropical storm, and work her way up the Gulf Stream, passing New England sometime on Friday night. Its unfortunate that the waves all New Englad surfers look forward to are spawned from such deadly storms but such is the case.

So what does this mean for us? Check out the models and make a decision for yourself. All I'm going to say is that if you miss out on this swell, it sucks to be you!
